SUPPORTING & BALANCING YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM FOR SUPER, WHOLE BODY PROTECTION

This past year (2021) or so has been intensely challenging for all of us on many levels especially concerning our health and well-being. Some of us sadly, have lost someone we love dearly or have suffered with them as they fight to heal from physical issues due to the so-called pandemic.

These are crazy times and very confusing for many people. Some of the questions on people’s minds have been:
-How can my family and I avoid getting Covid or a variant?
-What should I do if I do get Covid or a variant?
-What can I do to protect myself now and from future viral attacks?
-What’s the best way to keep my immune system at its highest?
-What makes my immune system vulnerable to rogue viruses?

TO HELP ANSWER SOME OF THOSE QUESTIONS, THIS POST CONTAINS INFORMATION I FELT WOULD BE MOST BENEFICIAL FOR EVERYONE.

IMMUNE SYSTEM BASICS

The body is a holistic, complex system. Keeping your body healthy and in balance is always the best way to live—especially during a pandemic or flu outbreak because it gives you the very best chance of staying healthy and protected. Always being in your greatest state of overall immune strength is definitely where you want to be.

Regardless of what virus we are being challenged by, eg., Covid 19, its variants or whatever, it’s still just a virus and humans have successfully dealt with these virus things since the beginning of time. Yes, sometimes they seem like they’re winning but in the end, the human immune system always and I mean always wins.

IT’S CALLED NATURAL IMMUNITY AND IT PROVES OVER AND OVER TO BE THE ABSOLUTE BEST BODY PROTECTION AGAINST VIRAL ATTACKS. AND YES, BETTER THAN VACCINES.

Each person is responsible for their own body of course and even if Covid was not an issue, our bodies still have to protect us from all kinds of wild stuff out there that are out to do us harm. This has always been the case for us humans – always. It’s nothing new.

Truth is – we are all being attacked every day of our lives whether from outside of us or inside. If it wasn’t for our amazing natural immunity – we would not last a day here on earth.

EVERYONE MUST STAY STRONG AND DO EVERYTHING THAT’S NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM.

A healthy immune system can fight off anything. That’s what it’s designed to do It’s called SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST and it’s a huge part of how this world works.

But we must do what’s necessary to help our bodies be like bulletproof tanks. That’s our responsibility to our own life and it should be a welcomed daily commitment — no excuses.

Along with proper eating of good foods of course, I believe certain supplements can be a big help in supporting the immune system. So I put together a list of supplements (below) that I believe can be most beneficial. Feel free to share this protocol with your friends and loved ones.

1. VITAMIN D3 DROPS

Suggested Dosage: 1 drop / day (5000 IU per drop) with food or juice
Suggested brand: BLUEBONNET
Shop VITAMIN D3 Here

Popularly referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” vitamin D is an essential vitamin your body needs for optimal health. It’s been covered extensively in the news recently due to its connection with bolstering the immune system to reduce the risk of or weakening symptoms of COVID-19.

Vitamin D is essential to a healthy immune system as it initiates the adaptive immune response. It promotes the expression of a protein called cathelicidin which can promote the stimulation of T cells to help support an immune response. The link between vitamin D and viral infections was observed during winter months when vitamin D levels are generally lower.

Vitamin D is vital for the normal functioning of the immune system. It may prevent as well as treat infections such as common cold, COVID-19, flu, tuberculosis and more.

2. VITAMIN C POWDER (ascorbic acid)

Suggested Dosage:1000-5000mg / day (take with Quercetin)
Suggested brand: SOURCE NATURALS
Shop VITAMIN C Here

Vitamin C is a critical component in keeping your immune system in tip-top shape. Many studies have shown its efficacy in cases of bacteria and viral infection, including lung inflammation caused by the flu and pneumonia.
It’s thought that vitamin C’s immune supporting benefits come from its ability to help produce white blood cells — the body’s defenders against viral and bacterial infection.

Vitamin C is important for protecting immune cells. Your immune cells, lymphocytes specifically, produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are great in defending against foreign invaders.

In addition, vitamin C supports your immune system in producing white blood cells and helping these cells function at their best.

In a nutshell Vit C supports your immune system’s defenses against viruses, bacteria and other invaders while also protecting your immune cells. Stay strong with C every day!

Here’s a great way to take C that won’t bother your stomach:
Put 1/2 tsp of C powder in half glass of water – add 1/2 tsp of baking soda – stir till it all dissolves turning the Vit C from plain ascorbic acid to sodium ascorbate which is a much better form of Vit C when it comes to tolerance and absorption. Add some MSM powder and juice for an excellent power immune supporting elixir.

3. ZINC 50 mg

Suggested Dosage: 50 mg / day (with food)
Suggested Brand: SOLARAY
Shop ZINC Here

Zinc is found in cells throughout the body. It helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses. Zinc is essential for our immune system because it affects how our cells respond to infections. It can also help keep inflammation under control.

Zinc is essential for the normal development and function of many immune cells. Because of the critical role it plays in the immune system, even a mild deficiency can impair immune function and increase the risk of bacterial, viral, and parasitic infection.

In clinical states associated with immunodeficiency (e.g., sickle cell disease, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection) and in the elderly, zinc supplementation can restore natural killer cell activity, lymphocyte production, and resistance to infections.

Studies in HIV patients with low blood zinc levels reveal that chronic supplementation is associated with lower opportunistic infections and a reduced risk of immunological failure.

Zinc increases the activation of cells in the body that are responsible for fighting infection. It also activates enzymes that break down proteins in viruses and bacteria to reduce the chances of spreading. Zinc is essential for strong immune function.

4. QUERCETIN 500 mg

Suggested Dosage: 2 times a day at least 5 hrs apart (with Vit C)
Suggested Brand: JARROW
Shop QUERCETIN Here

Quercetin, a flavonol, has broad-spectrum antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-protective effects making it a strong candidate to help battle conditions involving oxidative stress, inflammation, and viral and bacterial attacks on the body. It’s also known for strengthening blood vessels walls.

Quercetin has an anti-viral action that inhibits the replication of common cold viruses, and reduces hypersensitivity of airway cells which may help to reduce exacerbations in people with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Quercetin works much like hydroxychloroquine, a drug found to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 when used early enough. Both are zinc ionophores, meaning they shuttle antiviral zinc into your cells.

The Front Line Critical COVID-19 Care Alliance’s early treatment protocol includes Quercetin at a dose of 250 milligrams twice a day, in combination with 100 mg elemental zinc and 500 mg to 1,000 mg of vitamin C twice a day.

Quercetin also has other mechanisms of action that make it useful in the fight against COVID-19. For example, it may inhibit SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to ACE2 receptor docking. By binding to the ACE2 receptor and the spike protein interface, quercetin inhibits viral attachment and entry into the cell.

5. NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) 500 mg

Suggested Dosage: 2 times / day on empty stomach with full glass of water
Suggested Brand: NATURAL FACTORS
Shop NAC Here

NAC replenishes levels of glutathione, which then regulates immune cells and inflammatory activity. This promotes healthy immune activity by restricting the inflammatory response of pathogens. Chronic inflammation that can damage the body will be prevented.

NAC activates glutathione, which keeps your immune system ready to fight infections. Glutathione primes T cells and natural killer cells, allowing them to produce more infection-fighting substances. With the NAC boost, your immune cells are better able to control both viral and bacterial infections.

Additional studies have also found that the glutathione created from NAC has an antibacterial effect, helping macrophages of the immune system target and destroy invading bacteria.

NAC supplementation increases glutathione, restoring natural killer cells that prevent viral replication and reduce the symptoms of the illness. NAC also significantly increases immune function by reversing suppression through glutathione activity.

Because of its ability to support healthy immune function, antioxidant status and support the body in modulating inflammation, NAC is an important consideration in the treatment of any viral illness, eg., Covid and variants.
To make sure you provide the strongest support for your immune system and best defense against viral attacks — you might want to add NAC to your daily routine.

Q. Why did Amazon (without explanation) remove NAC from it’s site entirely so you can’t buy it there? Perhaps because it works? It seems many REALLY GOOD things these days get censored.

6. PROBIOTICS (friendly bacteria)

Suggested Dosage:1-2 times/day with food, kefir, yogurt, raw sauerkraut or fruit juice
Suggested Brand: MEGA FOOD
Shop PROBIOTICS Here

Probiotics are a type of beneficial friendly bacteria that are found within the gut microbiome. These microorganisms play a critical role in maintaining good health, fighting off nasty attackers and in the prevention of disease. They are also involved in supporting proper immune function and we know how vitally important that is…especially today.

If your body doesn’t have enough friendly bacteria, some of the side effects may include digestive problems, skin issues, candida, autoimmune disease, frequent colds and vulnerability to all kinds of VIRAL FLU attacks — like from Covid-19 and variants.

It is believed that approximately 75% of our immune cells live in our gastrointestinal tract, along with 125 trillion bacteria, also known as the gut microbiome.

Friendly intestinal flora helps protect the body by neutralizing and inhibiting the proliferation of bacterial infections and acting as scavengers in the large intestine. Friendly bacteria also have a beneficial effect of stimulating the immune system.

The balance of friendly versus unfriendly bacteria in the intestinal tract, especially the large intestine, should be around 90% friendly and 10% unfriendly. Unfortunately, lifestyle factors such as diet (processed foods), drugs (antibiotics), alcohol, disease, stress and aging, have served to reverse the balance.

Today the average person walking around has around 90% unfriendly and only 10% friendly bacteria and the adverse effects are profound. As a result, the compounds formed “down there” are putrefactive substances such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, amines, phenols, indoles, secondary bile acids and a plethora of toxins that can seep back into the body causing all kinds of havoc.

These substances not only damage intestinal integrity (mucosal and membrane), but also get absorbed into the bloodstream becoming free radical causing mutagens and carcinogens. As such, they contribute to diseases, such as cancer, arteriosclerosis, liver disorders, autoimmune diseases and immunosuppression. If all of these were not enough, they also contribute to accelerating the aging process. Yikes! Let’s get our guts healthy for sure.

The establishment of a healthy gut microbiome, therefore plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy immune system — boosting the body’s ability to FIGHT OFF, AMONG OTHER THINGS, VIRAL ATTACKS. Way to go Probiotics!

7. MSM POWDER (methylsulfonylmethane)

Suggested Dosage:1000-5000 mg a day in natural sugar-free juice with your Vit C
Suggested Brand: JARROW
Shop MSM Here

Sulfur is one of the best protectors for the human body so adding some MSM, which is a form of organic sulfur, to your daily routine is one of the best things you can do to help your body fight off all kinds of foreign invaders including viruses, bacteria, etc..

All living things need sulfur as it plays a role in many biological processes. Sulfur is found in over 150 different compounds within the human body. There are sulfur components in virtually every type of cell, so it is extremely important for healthy cell function. The body is continually rebuilding and it needs the proper building materials. One of the most essential building blocks is sulfur.

MSM impacts your health by reducing inflammation and helping promote healthy connective tissues like ligaments, tendons, and skin and is commonly used by people with conditions like Arthritis.

Perhaps most importantly, MSM is an essential mineral for cell oxygenation and detoxification helping the body protect against damage caused by free-radical, oxidative stress.

But here’s the kicker — sulfur is part of perhaps the most important antioxidant your body produces: glutathione. Having adequate levels of glutathione is crucial for the overall health and function of your immune system. So getting extra MSM can help increase glutathione levels which your body will use to protect you.

Start adding some MSM to your day and watch what happens! I highly recommend this amazing, natural supplement. Your hair and nails will also grow faster too! Oh Yeah!

SUPERFOODS FOR IMMUNE STRENGTH

Below are some of the most popular superfoods and the benefits they provide. Eat em’ up and get strong!

Açaí Berries

Açaí berries are grown in Central and South America and are the fruit of the Amazon palm tree. They are high in antioxidants, healthy fats, fiber, B vitamins, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus — meaning they definitely live up to their superfood designation. Studies have shown that these berries can help suppress and repair oxidative damage and help you maintain normal blood sugar.

Other berry varieties, like blueberries, strawberries and cranberries, are also rich in vitamins, soluble fiber and phytochemicals. Certain antioxidants and plant compounds found in berries can slow the growth of cancerous cells and help protect memory and cognitive function.

Kefir

Not incredibly popular, Kefir, is one of the most probiotic-rich foods on the planet. Kefir is a cultured, fermented beverage made from kefir grain and raw milk. This yogurt-like beverage is high in protein, B vitamins, potassium and calcium. However, it’s most powerful health benefit is its probiotic properties. Kefir can help build immune strength by improving the healthy bacteria ratio in your gastrointestinal tract. treat and prevent diarrhea, treat irritable bowel syndrome and reduce gastrointestinal infections, among other benefits.

Because kefir is fermented, people who are lactose intolerant can enjoy kefir and all of its many benefits despite the fact that it’s made from milk.

Avocado

Avocados are known to help with everything from reducing cholesterol and alleviating arthritis to lessening the side effects of chemotherapy. Avocado is high in monounsaturated fats that can improve good cholesterol levels. It is dense with vitamins E and B6, which aid in red blood cell formation, helping protect body tissues from free radicals, producing glycogen (an energy source for your body) and promoting skin health.

Avocados can also help your body absorb carotenoids — plant pigments responsible for bright red, yellow and orange hues found in other fruits and vegetables. Carotenoids are great because they contain high levels of vitamin A, the vitamin linked to reducing your risk of cancer, heart disease and eye degeneration.

Kale

A commonly known superfood, kale is a leafy green vegetable high in vitamins A, C and K as well as calcium, manganese, antioxidants and iron. Kale is very low in calories and high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help fight inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma and certain autoimmune disorders.

Like kale, other leafy greens such as Swiss chard, collard greens, mustard greens, spinach, cabbage and broccoli are rich in vitamins that support vision, prevent blood clots, support bone health, boost metabolism and prevent certain cancers.

Salmon

Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help lower your risk of heart disease and stroke. Introducing salmon into your diet can decrease your blood pressure, reduce inflammation and even boost your mood. This fish is also rich in vitamin D and selenium, which prevent cell damage and benefit your hair, skin, nails and bones. The American Heart Association recommends eating fish such as salmon at least two times per week.

Ginger

A little-known superfood but widely-used spice, ginger can give your immune system a boost, fight infections and protect against cancer. Ginger has been used throughout history as a treatment for nausea, digestive problems and muscle pain but has also been known to reduce inflammation and lower blood sugar. Try adding ginger to meals as a spice, drinking it in tea or taking ginger root supplements.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of fiber, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, iron, magnesium and potassium. All of these nutrients can help prevent heart attack, keep you looking younger, promote immune system health, improve vision and maintain healthy teeth, bones and skin. Since sweet potatoes are naturally sweet, they don’t require the extra butter, cream or salt that is typically added to potatoes to make them taste better.

Quinoa

Quinoa is a super grain that is high in fiber and protein; in fact, it contains more protein than any other grain. Besides high levels of protein, quinoa is also a source of iron and potassium.

Quinoa is technically not a grain but is actually a seed. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free and is often used as a rice substitute. On top of all of its other benefits, quinoa is also a great source of many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

And Here’s a Super Tip…
MAKE SURE YOU GET LOTS OF HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN EACH DAY TO HELP YOUR BODY BUILD AND MAINTAIN OVERALL BODY STRENGTH

People these days downplay protein which is a huge mistake in my opinion. We have to eat enough protein each day in order to STAY STRONG PHYSICALLY! And while I respect people who choose to be vegans or choose not to eat animal products — all I can say is you better watch your protein intake and make sure you get enough HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN — or your body will break down over time. I’ve seen it happen many times over the years.

So do your best to power up on the protein – somewhere like 80 grams of protein a day. And that should be most every day as protein eaten is not stored so you have to get it every day.

Seriously, your body will love you and thank you for it.
