WHY THE SUPER IMMUNE 12?
Taking certain supplements known to support in the balancing of the immune system is a wise strategy. A balanced immune system will assist the body in protecting itself against foreign invaders of all kinds.
Regardless of what virus we are being challenged by, eg., Covid 19 or variants, it’s still just a virus and humans have successfully dealt with these virus things since the beginning of time – that’s why we’re still here – 7 billion of us.
IT’S CALLED NATURAL IMMUNITY AND IT PROVIDES THE ABSOLUTE BEST BODY PROTECTION AGAINST VIRAL ATTACKS.
Each person is responsible for their own body of course and even if Covid was not an issue, our bodies still have to protect us from all kinds of wild stuff out there (and in there) that can do us harm. This has always been the case for us humans – always. It’s nothing new.
A strong, balanced immune system is our #1 defense against all types of infections, both viral and bacterial. The powerful, natural supplements below may assist your body in that effort so you might want to consider them. Power-Up Strong!
ABOUT OUR WARRIOR IMMUNE SYSTEM
How Does it Actually Work?
The immune system has a vital role: It protects your body from harmful substances, germs and cell changes that could make you ill. It is made up of various organs, cells and proteins.
As long as your immune system is running smoothly, you don’t notice that it’s there. But if it stops working properly – because it’s weak or can’t fight particularly aggressive germs – you get ill. Germs that your body has never encountered before are also likely to make you ill. Some germs will only make you ill the first time you come into contact with them. These include childhood diseases like chickenpox.
The Tasks of the Immune System
Without an immune system, we would have no way to fight harmful things that enter our body from the outside or harmful changes that occur inside our body. The main tasks of the body’s immune system are to fight disease-causing germs (pathogens) like bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi, and to remove them from the body,
to recognize and neutralize harmful substances from the environment, and to fight disease-causing changes in the body, such as cancer cells.
How is the Immune System Activated?
The immune system can be activated by a lot of different things that the body doesn’t recognize as its own. These are called antigens. Examples of antigens include the proteins on the surfaces of bacteria, fungi and viruses. When these antigens attach to special receptors on the immune cells (immune system cells), a whole series of processes are triggered in the body.
Once the body has come into contact with a disease-causing germ for the first time, it usually stores information about the germ and how to fight it. Then, if it comes into contact with the germ again, it recognizes the germ straight away and can start fighting it faster.
The body’s own cells have proteins on their surface, too. But those proteins don’t usually trigger the immune system to fight the cells. Sometimes the immune system mistakenly thinks that the body’s own cells are foreign cells. It then attacks healthy, harmless cells in the body. This is known as an autoimmune response.
Innate and Adaptive Immune System
There are two subsystems within the immune system, known as the innate (non-specific) immune system and the adaptive (specific) immune system. Both of these subsystems are closely linked and work together whenever a germ or harmful substance triggers an immune response.
The innate immune system provides a general defense against harmful germs and substances, so it’s also called the non-specific immune system. It mostly fights using immune cells such as natural killer cells and phagocytes (“eating cells”). The main job of the innate immune system is to fight harmful substances and germs that enter the body, for instance through the skin or digestive system.
The adaptive (specific) immune system makes antibodies and uses them to specifically fight certain germs that the body has previously come into contact with. This is also known as an “acquired” (learned) or specific immune response.
Because the adaptive immune system is constantly learning and adapting, the body can also fight bacteria or viruses that change over time.
What is Our Part? What Can We Do to Help Our Immune System Remain Strong, Healthy and Balanced?
So our job is to pay attention to what else is going on in the body. What else induces the immune system and believe it or not, the most significant thing that induces the immune system is a standard American or Western diet. That’s right, the crap diet most people eat on a daily basis. The chemically processed, genetically modified, polluted non-foods, frankenfoods, junk foods, whatever you want to call it, the anti- foods that are not meant for human consumption.
That’s what alarms our immune system and why so many people are sick with everything from cancer to heart disease, diabetes and all the other stuff that’s made us the most drug-medicated batch of humans in the history of the world.
Our genes have only changed 2% in 10,000 years. That’s not much at all. So when our bodies see this strange stuff coming in, the body is induced from an immune regulation standpoint (launched into survival mode if you will) because it looks at it as chemicals or toxins or poisons. It’s not right. So that in itself creates this inflammatory storm that goes on almost daily.
So in the immune system, the greatest things that substantially induce the immune system are not what you think – viruses, bacteria’s. parasites, etc..
These un-foods, frankenfoods, junk and anti-foods that we eat, the standard American Western diet is in truth primarily the underlying cause. The body looks at this stuff as foreign invaders and induces the immune system into action. It induces inflammation and it happens so fast and so much that oftentimes you rush to the Dr or even to the hospital because you did things that caused the immune system to upregulate.
And then we want to turn it down, but we’re creating the whole process by eating junk the body should not have. So we really have to check our lives and living / eating habits and remove the things that inappropriately upregulate and activate the immune system.
When the immune system is constantly being activated like that by the wrong things we put into it – it gets overworked when it should be resting if you will. And because of being overworked our bodies are left vulnerable to other invaders like Covid and the like.
We need to fill up our bodies with essential things that only come from good, natural, organic food so that every system of the body, including the immune system can operate at it’s max potential 24/7. That means consuming a lot of above-ground and root vegetables and fruits, along with all kinds of other good foods our bodies love and just really bombard the system with phytonutrients from all the good organic foods.
Organic is best because regularly grown food does not contain the voluminous amount of nutrients it once did years ago because the soil has not been allowed to rest and replenish.
Therefore, supplementation with vitamins and minerals is no longer just a good idea, it really should be a priority in one’s life. Some of the supplements we feel are super important are listed below. We will add more at some point too. I hope that helps you understand better how the immune system works and what you can do to help it work at its peak for your best outcome.
MORE ABOUT THE 12 SUPER IMMUNE HELPERS
These 12 Supplements Can Help Support the Immune System in Big Ways
1. VITAMIN D3
Popularly referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” vitamin D is an essential vitamin your body needs for optimal health. It’s been covered extensively in the news recently due to its connection with bolstering the immune system to reduce the risk of or weakening symptoms of COVID-19.
Vitamin D is essential to a healthy immune system as it initiates the adaptive immune response. It promotes the expression of a protein called cathelicidin which can promote the stimulation of T cells to help support an immune response.
The link between vitamin D and viral infections was observed during winter months when vitamin D levels are generally lower. Vitamin D3 is vital for the normal functioning of the immune system. It may prevent as well as treat infections such as common cold, COVID-19, flu, tuberculosis and more.
2. VITAMIN C Powder (ascorbic acid)
Here’s a great way to take it that won’t bother your stomach:
Put 1/2 tsp of C powder in half glass of water – add 1/2 tsp of baking soda – stir till it all dissolves turning the Vit C from plain ascorbic acid to sodium ascorbate which is a much better form of Vit C when it comes to absorption. Add some juice and drink.
Vitamin C is a critical component in keeping your immune system in tip-top shape. Many studies have shown its efficacy in cases of bacteria and viral infection, including lung inflammation caused by the flu and pneumonia.
It’s thought that vitamin C’s immune supporting benefits come from its ability to help produce white blood cells — the body’s defenders against viral and bacterial infection.
Vitamin C is important for protecting immune cells. Your immune cells, lymphocytes specifically, produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are great in defending against foreign invaders.
In addition, vitamin C supports your immune system in producing white blood cells and helping these cells function at their best.
In a nutshell Vit C supports your immune system’s defenses against viruses, bacteria and other invaders while also protecting your immune cells.
3. ZINC
Zinc is found in cells throughout the body. It helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses. Zinc is essential for our immune system because it affects how our cells respond to infections. It can also help keep inflammation under control.
Zinc increases the activation of cells in the body that are responsible for fighting infection. It also activates enzymes that break down proteins in viruses and bacteria to reduce the chances of spreading.
Due to its direct antiviral properties, it can be assumed that safe zinc administration is likely beneficial for most of the population, especially those with suboptimal zinc status.
4. QUERCETIN
Quercetin has broad-spectrum antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-protective effects, according to a press release, making it a potential candidate to support conditions involving oxidative stress, inflammation, and immunity.
Quercetin, a flavonol, is characterized by 3 crucial properties: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory. The combination of these 3 properties makes quercetin an excellent candidate for dealing with situations in which oxidative stress, inflammation and the immune system are involved.
5. NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine)
NAC replenishes levels of glutathione, which then regulates immune cells and inflammatory activity. This promotes healthy immune activity by restricting the inflammatory response of pathogens. Chronic inflammation that can damage the body will be prevented.
NAC activates glutathione, which keeps your immune system ready to fight infections. Glutathione primes T cells and natural killer cells, allowing them to produce more infection-fighting substances. With the NAC boost, your immune cells are better able to control both viral and bacterial infections.
Additional studies have also found that the glutathione created from NAC has an antibacterial effect, helping macrophages of the immune system target and destroy invading bacteria.
NAC supplementation increases glutathione, restoring natural killer cells that prevent viral replication and reduce the symptoms of the illness. NAC also significantly increases immune function by reversing suppression through glutathione activity.
Because of its ability to support healthy immune function, antioxidant status and support the body in modulating inflammation, NAC is an important consideration in the treatment of any viral illness, eg., Covid and variants.
To make sure you provide the strongest support for your immune system and best defense against viral attacks — you might want to add NAC to your daily routine.
*Why did Amazon (without explanation) remove NAC from it’s site entirely so you can’t buy it there? Perhaps because it works? It seems so many GOOD things these days are censored.
6. PROBIOTICS (and Prebiotics)
Probiotics are a type of beneficial GOOD bacteria that are found within the gut microbiome. These microorganisms play a critical role in maintaining good health, fighting off nasty attackers and in the prevention of disease. They are also involved in supporting proper immune function and we know how vitally important that is.
If your body doesn’t have enough probiotics, some of the side effects may include digestive problems, skin issues, candida, autoimmune disease, frequent colds and vulnerability to all kinds of attacks from VIRAL FLUS — like Covid-19 and variants.
Probiotics fuel mitochondria—the “batteries” that supply energy to all of the cells in your body, including muscles. One muscle in particular has a lot of mitochondria: your heart.
It is believed that approximately 75% of our immune cells live in our gastrointestinal tract, along with 125 trillion bacteria, also known as the gut microbiome.
The establishment of a healthy gut microbiome, therefore plays a significant role in developing a healthy immune system — boosting the body’s ability to help FIGHT OFF, AMONG OTHER THINGS, VIRAL ATTACKS. Way to go Probiotics! YOU ARE AMAZING!
7. MSM
Sulfur is one of the best protectors for the human body so adding some MSM, which is a form of organic sulfur, to your daily routine is one of the best things you can do to help your body fight off all kinds of foreign invaders including viruses, bacteria, etc..
All living things need sulfur as it plays a role in many biological processes. Sulfur is found in over 150 different compounds within the human body. There are sulfur components in virtually every type of cell, so it is extremely important for healthy cell function. The body is continually rebuilding and it needs the proper building materials. One of the most essential building blocks is sulfur.
MSM impacts your health by reducing inflammation and helping promote healthy connective tissues like ligaments, tendons, and skin and is commonly used by people with conditions like Arthritis.
Perhaps most importantly, MSM is an essential mineral for cell oxygenation and detoxification helping the body protect against damage caused by free-radical, oxidative stress.
But here’s the kicker — sulfur is part of perhaps the most important antioxidant your body produces: glutathione. Having adequate levels of glutathione is crucial for the overall health and function of your immune system. So getting extra MSM can help increase glutathione levels which your body will use to protect you.
Start adding some MSM to your day and watch what happens! I highly recommend this amazing, natural supplement.
8. IODINE
Iodine deficiency is recognized as the most common cause of preventable brain damage in the world. Even moderate deficiency results in a loss of at least 10 – 15 IQ points. Could just taking iodine change people’s lives for the better? I believe YES it could and does.
Nearly all of your body’s functions in nearly every tissue rely on thyroid hormones. Their actions and influence are so wide ranging that you cannot live without them.
Thyroid hormones (supported by the proper amount of iodine in the body) affect brain development, heart rate, lung function, blood function, bone growth, steroid hormone production, immune function, the breakdown of sugar, fat and protein and something that is super important to many of us — hair growth.
How does Iodine work in the Brain?
Iodine boosts brain health and function in several ways. But two in particular stand out.
Iodine is critical for neurotransmitters. Iodine is required for the production of thyroid hormones T4 and T3. Thyroid hormone receptors in the brain help regulate the production and use of all important neurotransmitters.
Not enough iodine results in too little T3 and T4 in your body. Symptoms of inadequate thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) include insomnia, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, depression, dry skin and hair, cold sensitivity, frequent and heavy periods for woman, and joint and muscle pain.
Iodine is required for a healthy immune system. Iodine is antibacterial, antiparasitic, antiviral and has anticancer properties.
Your thyroid is the main storage site for iodine. But this mineral is also concentrated in your glandular system including your salivary and sweat glands. Ovaries, breasts, pancreas, cerebral spinal fluid, skin, stomach, prostate and your brain all contain high concentrations of iodine.
Iodine is a powerful method for removing heavy metals and halides like fluoride, chlorine and bromine from your system. These chemicals compete for the same thyroid receptors in cells used by thyroid hormones. So removing these toxins will help thyroid hormones do their job of gene expression and metabolism.
Bottom line — iodine is critical for health so please consider taking it.
9. B COMPLEX
B vitamins are critical to overall health. Here is a simple breakdown of what each B does in the body:
Vitamin B1 (thiamine)—Thiamine helps convert carbohydrates into usable energy.1 It also supports healthy nervous system function and production of both RNA and DNA.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)—Our formula contains vitamin B2 in the form of riboflavin and riboflavin-5’-phosphate, the active form of the nutrient. The body converts riboflavin to its riboflavin-5’-phosphate form, which the body then uses for energy production.
Vitamin B3 (niacin)—Niacin supports healthy energy transfer reactions. It affects healthy metabolism of glucose, fat and alcohol. Plus, it supports healthy cholesterol levels for those already within normal range.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)—Vitamin B5 is an essential cofactor in energy metabolism,6 hormone synthesis, neurotransmitter signaling and the oxidation of fatty acids.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine HCI and pyridoxal 5’-phosphate)—Vitamin B6 participates in amino acid and lipid metabolism. Along with B5, it is a cofactor in neurotransmitter and hemoglobin synthesis. B6 is also involved in gluconeogenesis, the formation of glucose from non-carbohydrate sources. And while pyridoxine must be converted by the liver into pyridoxal 5’-phosphate before it can be utilized, our formula includes this nutrient from the start.
Biotin—This B vitamin is a cofactor of enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolism. It’s also essential to maintaining metabolic homeostasis, or the balance between your body’s many chemical pathways and processes.
Folate (5-MTHF)—Folate helps maintain red blood cell production within normal range and also helps the body make and maintain healthy DNA.11 The active form of folate is up to seven times more bioavailable than folic acid. Plus, BioActive Complete B-Complex delivers 50 mg of para-aminobenzoic acid (or PABA) to encourage folic acid synthesis.
Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin)—Vitamin B12 affects nerve cell growth and supports heart health by helping to maintain healthy homocysteine levels already within normal range.4-7 Methylcobalamin B12 is the form that is biologically active in the brain.
Inositol—This B vitamin is a primary component of phospholipids that make up cellular membranes. Inositol is essential for calcium and insulin signal transduction—the unique chemical reactions that occur when molecules attach to a receptor on a cell’s membrane.
B-Complex provides all the daily vitamin B benefits the body needs. It’s the perfect complement to any well-rounded nutritional regimen.
10. ECHINACEA & GOLDENSEAL
These two amazing herbs is one of the best protectors for the human body so adding some MSM, which is a form of organic sulfur, to your daily routine is one of the best things you can do to help your body fight off all kinds of foreign invaders including viruses, bacteria, etc..
How do echincea and golden seal work together as the dynamic duo? During a cold, flu or infection, especially of the mucous membranes, echinacea can go to work to activate immune fighters, such as macrophages. These important defenders work to engulf and rid the body of virus-infected cells, bacteria, toxic wastes—helping to clear the debris of an “immune battle” from the site. The purple cone-flower can also help strengthen a protective gel that surrounds many of the body’s cells, thus keeping invading organisms from gaining a foothold.
Golden seal, meanwhile, can help control the inflammatory process if it gets too carried away—if there is too much heat, redness, or swelling. The immune system can actually be inhibited in its protective job when this happens. It can also help bring more blood into the micro-circulation in the areas that are infected, such as the sinus cavities or urinary tract. It can help the body go through the infection much faster by bringing in more of the macrophages (that echinacea is activating) and helping to remove debris from the site.
11. VITAMIN D3
Popularly referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” vitamin D is an essential vitamin your body needs for optimal health. It’s been covered extensively in the news recently due to its connection with bolstering the immune system to reduce the risk of or weakening symptoms of COVID-19
12. VITAMIN D3
Popularly referred to as the “sunshine vi
